When you said 'when ‘it’ happens, I can tell… there is someone else looking back at me. His “twin” - there as a placeholder of sorts - waiting for my love to return' it really struck a chord in me. I spent 10 years living with and dealing with my husband who at times was funny and supportive and romantic but other times would become apathetic and bleak and uncaring as depression set in. It really was like living with 2 completely different people. I never really looked at that way before - I wish I would have been able to read your post years ago. It would have really helped me to cope on the days that he was not the man I fell in love with. Very insightful first post!
